and have found this to be the most logical and easily comprehended beginning piano book on the market I have taught music for over 40 years, and have found this to be the most logical and easily comprehended beginning piano book on the market!Easy?? Easy??? Not really. Certainly not good for a little kid. Also, graphics in this books are pretty unappealing and .. well, ugly ;(Not recommendedThis is an excellent, colorful book for beginning piano students This is an excellent, colorful book for beginning piano students. I wondered where this feel on the spectrum of books when looking at Teaching Little Fingers How to Play which was the first book my piano teacher used with me, along with the notespeller. After ordering those as well, I would say this book would go first and is a combination of the styles of Teaching Little Fingers How to Play (which is instructional and has basic songs) and the Note Speller (where they practice just that). This book has the instructional piece with songs and worksheets for as well. It makes me wonder if it was designed as a replacement. If trying to decide between these two John Thompson resources for a little one, you may one to go with this one first and follow the progression of these. I don't regret buying the others, I like the songs in it for beginners. I will be using all of them with my kiddos.
