Our Favorite Children's Book This book is amazing, easily the favorite book in our toddler's library! Unlike other books, I never get tired of reading it over and over. On the surface, its about a giraffe dancing, but it goes so much deeper than that. It's about a giraffe who IS TOLD by others that he can't dance and is laughed off by all the animals. The giraffe gets great advice that allows him to be himself, find his own style, and not care about what others think. Suddenly the giraffe is dancing and all the other animals who had sneered are now watching him in awe. The message is to believe in yourself, do what makes you feel happy, you are amazing in your own way. The illustrations are colorful and engaging, and the rhythm/rhyme in the story make this ideal for a wide age range (infant to elementary age).Great book for young children I'm a preschool teacher so I not only read a lot of books, I can tell when a book is good or not. This book is so cute and has a wonderful message at the end of the story; basically don't worry about what others think or say about you, as long as you believe in yourself and like yourself, that's all that matters. The illustrations are colorful and fun. I love stories that rhyme because children seem to sometimes enjoy the story more and this book delivers. Lastly, since becoming a parent, I can see how this being a board book can be easy to travel with in the diaper bag so that the story can be read on the go in the car or at grandma's house. Overall a great book.Troubled by the underlying message My husband and I have mixed feelings about the message this book sends. We both agree there seems to be a moral here, but what it is in unclear. I believe this book is suggesting that after the giraffe was teased, he found a way to not only fit in but be better than all the other animals. Why does the giraff have to dance to be liked by the others? Couldn’t the giraffe find another activity he excels at and be happy with himself? I don’t normally have these reactions to my infant son’s books and I’m giving this one away.

Loved this storyline I loved the characters, shifter and true mate storyline for this book. Can’t wait for the next book to see what happens with the rest of her matesGreat start loved it A brand new series about a girl that is abused by her mother and the boyfriend of her mother. She meets 6 guys and they know she is their mate but she is not 18 yet so doesn't know. She doesn't know she is a shifter either. Life can throw you in some really amazing things as Maya learns this too. She is naive but very cute. There were a few typos but nothing huge.I like it but I dont I like the men for the most part but feel like I don't know enough about them. What I know intrigues me except...I thought Henry being in high school to 'watch over' the twins was dumb especially when he has a supposed medical degree that he supposedly finished part time while in high school which he is too old for. Yet he is also supposedly famous in the medical field. Not possible. Illogical. Annoying. Eye rolling.Maya s thought process had me eye rolling too. She felt she had to protect them from her mom? Really? She also was way too down on herself. Not worthy of friendship? Always thinking they were going leave her? Some self doubt is ok considering her background but I found it overdone. I miss Vegas as an MC. A want a strong female lead not an illogical annoying one. Also, You can write innocent without writing the character stupid. If she read Cosmo she would have know what dating is....I did like when she stood up for herself and smacked down people who were being jerks.I will read the next one. As always, i do like the devotion this authors characters always have to each other.
